[Review] Tsaio Witch Hazel Oil Control Mask Sheet

The Tsaio Witch Hazel Oil Control Mask Sheet is the first out of four masks I'll be reviewing from Beauteque.com as part of their new Mask Marketplace launch. One of the main reasons why I chose this mask was because witch hazel is known to help with acne, blemishes, and oily skin (just to name a few). And guess what, I have problems with all three of those things! Yay me.
Description:
Need help balancing your oily skin? This soothing sheet mask contains witch hazel extract to help balance your skin's oil and sebum secretion while leaving it firm & radiant! The mild nature of witch hazel makes this mask suitable for all skin types. It's essence will be fully absorbed into the skin to make your complexion feel silky & smooth to the touch.
To Use:
Apply to face after cleansing.
Relax and leave on for 15-20 minutes.
Gently pat remaining essence into skin to absorb.
Ingredients:
Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Zinc PCA, Propylene Glycol, Arctium Lappa Root (Burdock Root) Extract, Nasturtium Officinale Flower Leaf Extract, Plantago Lanceolata Leaf Extract, Hibiscus Abelmoschus (Hibiscus) Extract, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Niacinamide, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Polysorbate 20, Methylparaben, Trisodium EDTA, Fragrance, Water.

Quick Glance Impressions:
What I first noticed about this sheet mask was how small the packaging is compared to most other masks. Also, just by lightly squeezing it, I can already feel that there is a ton of essence. Another reason why I chose this mask was because it claims to be an "oil control" mask. Since I hate wearing masks anytime that isn't at night, I wasn't sure if the oil control would be beneficial for me. It also says it's moisturizing and I learned a while back that oily skin is actually cause due to lack of moisture, so maybe it might help me.

Performance:
What I was immediately unhappy about was how extremely thin the sheet mask. I thought the fit of the mask was acceptable, not too small nor too big. I really liked how the portion on the upper lip was the perfect size, as I usually have to fold that part up in order for it to fit.
Sorry that the lighting is super off!
I initially intended to leave the mask on for longer than 45 minutes, but my chin, nose, and forehead areas were already dry after 30 minutes. I'm just making the assumption that since it was thin, the sheet mask didn't really get to fully absorb the essence?

I had taken a "before" picture with the intention of taking a comparison photo after I removed the sheet mask, but there was absolutely no difference. I usually see an immediate, yet temporary brightening effect every time I use sheet masks, but didn't get that here tonight. Another frustration I had was it took almost 40 minutes after patting my skin for it to fully get absorbed. AND GET THIS...MY SKIN GOT OILY 30 MINUTES LATER. There goes the oil control part. As far as for acne, I have a giant red zit on my bottom lip that only looked more irritated by the end of all of this. Luckily, no new breakouts by the next morning.
Remaining essence left inside the package.
Overall:
(2 out 5)
I did not like it. For those that like to just read the end and not my ramble haha, let me recap. Mask was too thin and dried up quicker than I anticipated. A lot of was essence was left over inside the packaging that I wish was absorbed more by the mask. It didn't even give me the immediate brightening effect that I typically see when using sheet masks. It took an extra 40 minutes for my skin to completely absorb after removing the mask and patting. My skin got oily 30 minutes later. The only reason I'm giving it a 2 out of 5 rather than anything lower is because it didn't break me out, which I will at least applaud for. But "NO" to repurchasing.

I'm hoping that the next one I try out is much better. I'm already eyeing some other masks that Beauteque has put up recently. If you haven't already, taken a look at their increasingly wide selection of masks, especially right now with their sales! Excluding masks, they have 30% (Code: HAPPY4TH) off their skincare and makeup to needs to be taken advantage of before the end of today.
