[Review] Aqua Petit Jelly CC Foundation

It has been very busy this month since school started again. My skin is just going insane, along with my mind~

So sad :( However, I have not given up with looking for a good and light coverage foundation, so I'm back with another review! Today, I will be reviewing the Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly CC Foundation, $16.58.

If you are new to reading my posts, I have very sensitive yet tough skin. Using the wrong product can easily make my face react, but many products also have no effect on my skin. I have been dealing with acne since the age of 9, thus leaving me with many rolling acne scars and enlarged pores (sorry if this is redundant to those that have read my previous posts).

I am also very oily! So please keep that in mind when reading.

I apply this foundation with my fingers. After I wash my face, my skin gets easily irritated and turns red, which is why the before picture looks very frightening. Also, my skin has been attacked by blackheads!!!! It's so rough, I have no idea what product made me skin react that way :(

Texture: When you pump it out of the tube, it comes thick, which I like in a CC or BB cream. I love how this foundation comes on very smooth on your skin and it's very easy to blend. It also absorbs fairly quickly, so I don't waste time trying to wait until it sets and dries on my skin to apply on my powder.

Coverage: I really like this foundation because it's feels very light. However, though it feels light, it is a light coverage foundation. Don't expect to coverage much red spots with one layer. I have been gravitating towards using less foundation so my face can have a chance to breathe  and heal. I think this foundation is great for everyday use, and it gives my face a little break from all the heavy things I've used in the past. It looks lighter than me, but I'm sure it is mostly from the white cast due to the flash and SPF. I do look and feel very fresh after applying it!
I prefer to do a close-up picture because it really shows how better my skin looks after applying.
From far away, my skin tends to look better and I don't want it to look misleading.

Lasting Effect: I typically start to get oily after 30 minutes of applying my make-up, so it's very frustrating for me. If I do apply any foundation at all, I get even more oily. However, I found this product does not speed up my oil production, which is a huge plus for me! This means that, it says longer on my face than most of the other CC or BB creams I have been using lately. Does it stay on for 8 hours? No. But it at least stays on long enough for "touch-up" during my lunch break.

 Final Verdict:
 (4/5)

I like it a lot, and I have been using it everyday for the past 2 weeks. The only reason that  didn't give it a 5/5 is because of the lasting effect. It would be awesome if it stayed longer on my skin, but living in such a humid environment (South Texas) and my current skin type, I know it's not very possible. However, it been a very nice everyday foundation for me, and I will keep on using it. I don't even have the urge to purchase a new foundation right now because I like this one so much. Will I repurchase it? I can't say right now since I have only been using it for less than a month. But I do recommend if you are looking for some light coverage and a brightening glow for your face.

*Thanks for reading! I will be doing a review on some sheet masks with a giveaway for my readers later this week, so be on the lookout :)

    1. I know what you mean about melting. Not only do I have oily skin, but the weather here gets to 110 F degrees in the summer. It's barely February and already hitting high 80s :((

I've always wanted to try the BB cream version too because of all the great reviews. Must be a holy grail! Haha, but it's always sold out everytime I see it :(

    1. Thanks! I have a one week break in two weeks, and I can't wait. But good thing I'm graduating May, so hopefully my stress can calm down.

I know, oily skin is so frustrating :(

    1. I think it is pretty great considering that it is a lighter coverage foundation! I might need to order the BB cream version if the CC is this good.

      Thanks for reading!

    1. Thanks you!

After several hours, the coverage is usually almost gone. I'm sure if I don't blot my face with oil absorbing sheets, it can get cakey throughout the day. But I don't want to see that happen :x so blot blot blot.
