Updated Night Routine & One-Year Blog Anniversary

Hello~

It's been quite a while since I've posted and been able to read everyone's posts >_< I've been feeling more sluggish than usual. Winter depression. I've been really wanting to post this for the longest time, but never could finish. But without further ado....

A little skin background:
When I was in 4th grade, I was hit with puberty and got my first visit from AF *the horror* By 9 years old, I got braces, glasses, and my first set of pimples located right on my forehead. It was a nightmare. By the time I was 12, my mom had already taken me to 4 different dermatologists with no results from any of the prescription medicine. My last dermatologist told me that the only option left was to go on Accutane. My mother (a nurse) refused due to potential side effects, and that was that. At a young age, especially when the Internet was basically still in AOL phase, there wasn't much guidance from anywhere. To hide myself, I would try caking on makeup in middle school and my oily skin would just make it worse, resulting in clogged pores and more breakouts. I never really washed my face at night (too lazy), and instead would apply topical acne cream on top of my dirty uncleaned face. I had zero confidence and would constantly avoid making eye contact with anyone talking to me so I couldn't seem them eyeing my horrible skin.

Fast forward to a few years ago, out of college, I was left with horrendous ice pick acne scars and large clogged pores (got the large part from my dad's genes).  To make matters worse, I was still constantly picking on my face and couldn't stop. Directly after college, I went to grad school, where stress was my skin's worst enemy. I would constantly try out new things, but to no avail. My hormones were out of control and they were winning. As soon as school finished for me a couple of months ago, I went hard with researching and trying out products. Though I'm not where I want to be in terms of my skin, my progress these past months has given me a lot of motivation to keep trying new things. I'm dealing with mostly redness and discoloration on my cheeks, and depending how stress I am, I do breakout on my chin every once in a while. Thankfully, it's been okay lately.

I hope in a couple of years, I can keep breakouts away and finally get rid of all my acne scars.
Probably the best section so far since I wasn't getting much acne on my forehead in the first place.
I'm actually working on the intense redness and dryness on my chin (NOT PERFECT), which wasn't captured by the camera.
My skin routine consists of  quite a few products and and months of trial and error. Even then, I'm still constantly switching and trying out new things. I don't recommend using so many new products at a short period of time until you've properly tested it on yourself. Always introduce new products one at a time slowly, as well as patch testing.

I alternate some of my products every other day and constantly trying out new items, so I'll be listing them in categories.

Cleansing Oil:

Foaming Cleanser:

Peeling Gel:
Read my review here.

Astringent/Toner:

Facial Treatment Essence:
Skin/Serums/Ampoules:

~Scinic Honey All in One Ampoule

For acne:
~Curology Acne Prescription

~
AcneFree Terminator 10 (10% benzoyl peroxide)
When my skin is crying for help (aka Cosrx products):
~Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch (my favorite patches are from SkinFood)

Masks:

~A ton of random sheet masks from SkinFood, Innisfree, Pure Smile, etc.
~1.0mm Titanium Micro Needle Roller (Not recommended; squeaks while you roll it on your face)

~Etude House My Beauty Tool Soft Silky Cotton (Very inexpensive at RRS, so I stock up on this, not shown)

I wasn't sure if anyone was interested in reading paragraphs regarding how I feel about every single product, so I left it out. If you're curious about anything, please leave a comment below and I'll do the best I can to answer ^_^ The biggest difference I saw in my skin was when I started doing microneedling on myself. I had done it with a professional for over a year, but I felt like she was destroying my skin on purpose so I can keep going back to get treatment so I opted to begin doing it myself. It's best to begin slowly with smaller needles, which first helps absorb your products better. The longer needles (more painful) are the ones that will help with collagen regeneration and acne scars.

Most of my acne is hormonal, so I'm on my way to start eating healthier and just being less stressed in general.......eventually...someday.

My skin tends to get used to products easily and typically stop working after extended use, so that's the main reason I'm always alternating. I also purchased quite a few more items during Black Friday/Cyber Monday that I'm excited to add to my routine!

[Review] Elizavecca Milky Piggy 24K Gold KANGSI Pack

Hello all!
I've been a little slow catching up reading and writing posts since my brother is visiting from California this week, but I really wanted to squeeze in a super quick post to talk about the Elizavecca Milky Piggy 24K Gold KANGSI Pack.

I'm typically too lazy to wear any time of mask, but lately I've been trying to incorporate it into my routine more often in order to prevent drastic breakouts or new blemishes that I can feel coming. Despite Thanksgiving holiday being underway, the mask's Halloween themed packaging didn't deter me from purchasing >_<

[Review] Rohto Lycee Eye Wash Cleanse & Refresh Lotion

Hi all~
I have a couple of drafts that I really need to finish >_< but I recently started using this eye wash from Rohto, and I HAD TO WRITE ABOUT IT FIRST. I'll be quick and to the point though...maybe.
It contains 3 vitamins, including vitamin B6, B12, and E, Hyaluronic acid Na, and more for eye nourishing, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammation performance. You can feel your eyes instantly refreshing and comfortable after used. It is also a good idea to use when getting eye discomfort, tiredness, after swimming, and after eye makeup removal.

If you've used the Rohto Lycee Eye Drops before, this eye wash has the same refreshing and cool feeling without the stinging.

Yes, this might be super random, but for those that wear lenses you may feel my pain and frustration of accidentally putting on your contacts on top of leftover gunk. I always seem to have residue in my eyes :< whether it be makeup remnants or just morning eye mucus (is that correct term for it)...it's quite frustrating.

2015 October Favorites!

The end of October means we're just another step closer to the holidays! Last month, there was a little scare here in Texas with Hurricane Patricia touching down in Mexico. Thankfully, it wasn't too bad where I live, though the neighboring city did reach up to 18 inches of rain :( and still some parts of Texas is flooding.

On to happier things! I wanted to share my first monthly favorites ^_^ Knowing myself, this will probably be posted when we're already well into November.

I absolutely cannot live without oil absorbing sheets. For years I have been using Clean & Clear Oil-Absorbing Sheets, but they're ridiculously expensive for just 50 sheets (I can use 5 a day). Paper oil absorbing sheets are useless to me, and I prefer the blue film type. I stumbled upon these sheets from Etude House and they do the same exact job for less than a third of the price. Yes, they're more difficult to get my hands on in terms of where to purchase them. But for the low prices, it's great to buy in bulk and stock up. A pack of 10 (5,000 sheets) can be purchased for about $13, while a 10-pack of Clean & Clear sheets would run me $44-60 depending on what store I purchase it.

If you've read my previous review regarding the Miyazaki Tints, you would know that my favorite shade out of the five was "With Eyes Unclouded". Though I only started using it towards the end of the month, it's been my favorite go-to lip product, especially when I'm not in the mood to wear drying liptints that day. The color is a sheer red with brown undertone.

If any of you all are following me on Instagram, you may have seen this picture already. Though I have oily skin, I have been doing at-home chemical peels whenever I have a chance. This leaves my skin dry and irritated, which is why I love these masks from Pure Skin. Also, the design on them are hilarious. It's packed full of serum and hyaluronic acid, which is great for hydrating and moisturizing, especially during the colder weather.

I received this in my October Ipsy bag and love it. The color is a lot darker when you put it on your nails than what it looks like in the bottle, but I think it's perfect for the Fall season. This is the only polish I have been wearing for the past month. When it starts to chip, I just reapply. The amazing thing about this polish is the drying time, which is very short. I apply one layer, and literally a minute later it's already dry. After the second layer, it won't take more than 5 minutes to dry. This is perfect because I can never sit still enough after getting my nails done, and always ruin them.

Moon Choker
The site I purchased it from no longer has it up, so no link. I purchased 3 of these for reasons unknown. I'm willing to part with one of them, so if anyone in the U.S. would like to get it (I'll pay for shipping & everythaaang), leave a comment below with your email and I'll send you a message!

Sorry about the quality and taking a mirror selfie.
I just ordered a tripod for my camera >_<
I have always disliked denim jackets and never owned a pair, mostly because I hate the feeling of denim (I'm not a big fan of jeans either). A lot of jackets I've tried on have always been rather stiff or require me "breaking it in" to make it softer. This jacket I purchased from Romwe is soft and does not feel like I'm being constrained every time I bend my arms. It's perfect for South Texas weather, especially since it never really gets too cold here. There's a grey hooded vest that comes with it, and I was pretty disappointed that I couldn't physically attach them to rach other, so you need to put them on separately. I got size XXL.

I seriously wear my Birkenstock year round, meaning I'm never too fashionable in the shoe department. I purchased this boots from Romwe as well, and I'm really digging them. I like that I can easily slip them on and off since they don't have any laces or zippers. Since they're flatforms, it can be uncomfortable for people with high arches when walking around for a while. I recommend some gel inserts >_< Also, since they have a flat platform, I don't need to worry too much about being careful with my heel and breaking my ankle.
It’s a little tough to describe the show in one short paragraph, but it’s a science fiction crime drama that that involves a Machine that separates crimes into relevant and irrelevant categories. The Machine is meant to predict terrorist attacks, and was created after the events of 9/11. Feeling bad that the Machine predicted ordinary crimes, ones that the Government ignores, the creator hires a former CIA agent that has been presumed dead to save the “Person of Interest”, or the person involved in the next crime.

I know I’m super bad with explaining the synopsis, but I’ve been really enjoying it. It’s on Netflix (Season 1-3), and I’m already almost done with Season 3. Season 4 should be on Netflix soon, and the 5th season is slated to start at the end of the year on CBS.

Sorry if the layout of this post was a little messy or congested, I've been frustrated going back and forth with my camera and my phone to take pictures because lighting...just sucks.
And that's the end of my first favorites post. I hope I didn't bore you all too much! I can't wait to read all of your fall posts these coming weeks :)

[Review] Miyazaki Tints from Shiro Cosmetics

Hello all~

I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful weekend!

Today I wanted to quickly share with you guys these Miyazaki-inspired tinted lip balms I purchased from a site called Shiro Cosmetics. They have really awesome collections inspired by the Hobbit, Harry Potter, Zelda, and many more. Even more amazing, their products are 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

If you're not aware of who Hayao Miyazaki is, he co-founded Studio Ghibli and has directed movies such as Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Ponyo, as well as others.

If you haven't seen any of these films, what are you waiting for?! Get to it.

[Review] G&G Tulips Grey Circle Lens from Pinky Paradise

Hello~

A week or two back, Pinky Paradise was having a promotion where if you purchase at least one pair of lenses, you can get "Free Global Mail Shipping". I wasn't in any hurry to get lenses, so I thought why not?

After initially ordering the G&G Tulips Brown ($23.90), I received an email stating it was out of stock, so I decided to get it in Grey instead.

What really caught my attention with these particular lenses was the design. If you've read my posts for a while, then you might have already noticed that it's hard for me to turn my back on "unique" things!

Diameter: 14.5mm
Water Content: 38%
Base Curve: 8.8mm & 8.9mm
Life Span: 1 year disposal
What inside: One pair of lenses and one macaron lens case

[Review] Holika Holika Smooth Egg Skin Re:Birth Peeling Gel

"Facial peeling gel formulated with natural eggs from Mountain Jiri.  It seeps away dead skin cells and dirt for a silky-smooth, supple skin."
Eggs are in~

Have you all noticed how popular eggs have become? It's printed on clothing, backpacks, we have egg shaped purses, jewelry, and even a lot of skin care brands have egg themed lines. For a couple of years now, egg whites have been brought up in skincare quite often due to its claims to reduce redness and inflammation, stop breakouts, and make the skin firm. Whether or not those claims are true or not is up to you, but that doesn't stop us from purchasing these egg products.

When I saw the Smooth Egg Skin Re:Birth Peeling Gel from Holika Holika, I immediately needed to get my hands on it. There's also a brown egg version (organic eggs are brown, right?), which is a face wash. I somehow didn't care much for that one.

You can purchase it almost in any Korean beauty site, but I purchased mine from RoseRoseShop for $5.75 :)

[Review] Etude House Dear Darling Water Tint

Hi All!

I hope everyone's October has been great so far. As I'm writing this, I'm currently on Day 1 of the 3-Day Military Diet, so I'm a little meh right now. Crossing my fingers that it does do some work for me (yes, I know it's not the safest diet out there). I'm doing it more as a jump-start to my "healthy" eating habits, since I typically eat tacos and burgers every single day. But to distract myself from the hunger pangs, I'm back with anther lip tint review!

One of my recent purchases from Kosmeshop, were two lip tints from Etude House called Dear Darling Water Tint ($3.41). They were fairy inexpensive, so I thought why not try them out?

I purchased two out of the three colors, which were Orange Ade and Strawberry Ade. I passed on Cherry Ade mostly because I have enough red lip tints.

Why are the lips on these swatch models so perfect?! Grrrr

Features

Vivid and beautiful color as fruit ade.

Rich vitamin and moisturizing ingredient in pomegranate extract and grapefruit extract contained.

Water type of lip tint is absorbed to lips quickly and lasts long time without stickiness.

[Haul] Kosmeshop + Shopping Experience

A couple of posts ago, I recently reviewed the TonyMoly Liptone courtesy of Kosmeshop. Prices were low and the person that responds to emails was incredibly nice, so I thought it to try to make my next haul from there. Try everything at least once, right?

Here are the items I ordered;

About:
According to their site, they have been selling cosmetics and women's handbags for 5 years in both Japan and America. They sell socks, handbags, circle lenses, and Korean make-up and skincare. Some of the brands they sell are Amore Pacific, TonyMoly, SkinFood, Nature Republic, Etude House, and many more.

I'm not sure if they had another website or sold items elsewhere, but this site happens to be fairly new. I've seen a lot of information on the site change just in the past 2-3 weeks.

Shipping:
Shipping costs are based on the weight of your purchased items. I typically avoid sites that require me to pay depending on weight, but if the prices are amazing, I don't mind.

You can purchase a tracking number for $2.50 or purchase EMS shipping for an additional $24. Purchases over $50 USD get free tracking with their standard shipping and purchases over $300 USD receive EMS shipping (doesn't specify if you still need to pay the initial shipping cost based on item weight).

My total came to a little less than $170. If I wanted to get EMS for my items, I would need to pay $23 for standard shipping due to weight plus $24 for the EMS. I decided $45+ shipping cost was not worth it.

Order & Shipping Problems (it's detailed, fair warning):
I ordered and paid for my items on Sept. 12. The site states that they ship items "3-7 business days after payment is received." When I purchased my items, this statement used to say 3-4 business days, so I contacted them on Sept. 16 asking if there were any problems with my order. I received a response the next day (Sept. 17) that one of my ordered products was out of stock and they would be restocking the next day. By Sept. 18, I was emailed that my order had been shipped. There was no tracking number (supposed to be included if you order over $50 USD) on the email or on my account page, so  I sent another email. The response came on Sept. 20 stating that they were closed and would check on the order the next day.

By the 22nd, I resent the email asking for tracking since I hadn't received an update. I got an answer stating that my out of stock product was actually discontinued and they would check their other branches. They gave me an "advanced" tracking number, but still nothing shipped. I didn't understand why they gave me a tracking number without getting shipped, so I emailed again on the 25th. Their response was that they would get the "out of stock" item on the 26th. However, it would be a holiday from the 26th-29th, so my order won't ship until the 29th (LUCKY ME). They also threw in there that TWO OTHER of my ordered products were discontinued and I could either chose a replacement product or refund. I chose a refund. They also gave me the choice of getting all my items shipped together on the 29th or getting everything else shipped that day (25th) while get the out of stock item shipped on the 29th. I chose the latter.

Solution:
They kindly refunded me and stated that the ordered being shipped on the 25th would be sent through EMS at no extra charge. The out of stock item would be sent once holiday is over (30th), though I'm not sure if that would be sent through EMS as well, or just standard shipping.

My order was shipped out (except the out of stock product) on the 25th, as promised, and received on the 30th. As of right now, I haven't received notification that my last item has shipped. Technically, since it's Oct. 2 there now, it should've shipped already. I will most likely email again tomorrow to follow up, and still not sure what shipping speed I'll receive for that one.

I did get some nice gifts and samples though, which I'm very thankful for despite the trouble it was for my order to get processed:

Overall:
Kosmeshop is a nice fairly new Korean skincare and make-up site. It has competitive prices with the opportunity to write reviews and receive buying credit for each review (much like Jolse). However, due to my first purchase experience with them, I might not make a new purchase anytime soon.

I think my biggest problem was getting a "shipped" email when it really wasn't shipped and getting the run around for a while. I would've been much happier if  I was told that certain products were out of stock or discontinued earlier than finding out two weeks later that 3 items were discontinued. It makes me wonder when they would have contacted me if I didn't email them first, or constantly bug them.

Customer service is nice, but I think only one person handles most of the emails, so I had to keep following up with her and send multiple emails (I'm annoying, I know).

In the end, they were nice and were able to help fix my order eventually. My refund was processed quickly as well. Even then, I doubt I'd make any new orders from them soon though. Hopefully by next year they'll be more established and I can take a look at buying something again.

If anyone was curious, these are the three products that were either out of stock/discontinued:
  1. IOPE Bio Activator Plant Stem Cell Active, $54.42 (This is the one that should've shipped already)
  2. Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Lotion, $15.53 (Discontinued)
  3. Skinfood Black Bean Nose Pack, $3.30 (Discontinued)

Let me know if you have purchased from them before! I'd like to know your experience.

[EDIT]
I sent another email after this post and my IOPE Bio Activator was shipped on the 2nd of October through EMS. I received it today, the 9th.

Despite the complications and hurdles during this transaction, I am grateful that it has finally been resolved.

You know those moments when you see some "out of the ordinary" product online and you have this sudden URGE that you need to have it for yourself (even though you know it's unnecessary)? Okay, well that's how I felt when I first saw SkinFood's Pore Fit Cushion ($24.98). I purchased it on sale for less than $20 at the time.

"A refreshing, long-wear cushion bottle foundation that cools heat-stressed enlarged pores. This pore care formula helps control oil for an all day smooth, even finish."

[Review] TONYMOLY Liptone in "Get it Tint"

I apologize (for the millionth time) that it's been such a long time since my last post, since I really don't have a good enough reason except that I've been lazy ~_~ Once I get my momentum going, I'll try to share my experiences with all the products I tried during the past months. Promises, promises.

First review I'll be doing is on the TONYMOLY Liptone "Get it Tint" ($7.77) in the color #05 All Night Red. I received this courtesy of Kosmeshop.com, which is a relatively new online store that sells not only Korean cosmetics, but also socks (super random), circle lenses, and handbags.

[DIY] Activated Charcoal Green Tea Face Mask

Okay, so I recently hopped onto the bandwagon of using activated charcoal to whiten my teeth. Since I'm sure mostly everyone has heard of it already, I won't go into detail. All I can say is that I don't think I've seen a difference?

I was too lazy (surprise, surprise) and really didn't want to purchase capsules and crush them, so I opted to purchase activated charcoal powder (4 oz) instead from Amazon. IT'S A LOT OF PRODUCT. So much, that I decided to look up other uses for it.

If you all did not know, activated charcoal is being used in a lot of skincare products these days, especially with those that claim to remove blackheads and shrink pores (masks, face wash, etc.)

Influenster: Campus VoxBox and Carefree Box

After almost a month gone, I'm back! I have no excuse other than I've just been extremely lazy after I graduated. It would be a lie if I said I was finally catching up on sleep.

So awhile back, I joined this site called Influenster that sends you products to review based on your interests. You can connect your social media sites to build higher "social impact" on your profile and they have different campaigns where they send you boxes of things if you qualify after taking a brief survey.

I recommend it if you all are interested in trying out new things!

I finally got onto a campaign. I received two boxes from them this past month: Carefree and the Campus VoxBox.

Life Update + Q Box Again?!

I'm even too lazy to put a different picture from my last post :x

[Disclaimer] This is going to be some useless babble on my part.

It's almost been an entire month since I've written a blog post, which is crazy because looking back I didn't realize how busy it was this past month for me (it really wasn't though). I finished all my assignments and finally set to graduate next month! Which means more time to purchase useless things to write about.

The past couple of months I tried out a whole new set of skincare products, only to realize it was seriously doing some damage to my face. I haven't been reviewing them because of my crappy phone situation but I'm hoping to get a new on in a couple of weeks. Will make do for now.

I also plan on doing a 5 day juice cleanse next week starting Monday. I've gained about 20-30 lbs this past year from all the stress of work and school, and I'm seriously ready to going back to my old confident self. If anyone is interested in reading a blog about my experience and results with that, let me know! I did the 3 day cleanse last month and managed to lose 7 lbs. I was going crazy and violent though. We shall see, we shall see.

March Q Box Unboxing

Feeling a little guilty because I have 3 unfinished posts on here pending, and it's taking forever for me to at least finish one! I dropped my phone a couple of weeks ago and cracked both camera sides, and everything has just been a blur when I attempt to take pictures. Oh well...

Anyways, back in January I was obsessed with looking for some subscription boxes to sign up for, and ended up purchasing the March Q box. I'm sure most of you all have heard of this subscription box, but if not, read on!
